Vision Statement: To achieve the highest standards for ambulatory surgical care and health care improvement in the community in which we live and work.
The Surgery Center at Associated Surgical and Medical Specialists is committed to delivering the highest standard of care. Because of this commitment, we have voluntarily completed rigorous inspections from the Medicare program and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) with full certification and accreditation from both organizations.
In addition, The Surgery Center maintains a program of continuous quality improvement and physician peer review. We measure quality of care by three factors: a high level of patient satisfaction, good clinical outcomes, and efficient use of resources. Through our program of quality improvement we have developed a series of "Key Quality Indicators" (our Report Card) that we closely monitor.

What our patients and their family members are saying about us.
This letter came to us from Connie P. of Beloit.
To Whom It May Concern,
I filled out the "Post Surgical Patient Satisfaction Survey," but it did not feel like enough. When people go above and beyond the norm, they deserve to be given a personal pat on the back.
This is what I thought about the treatment that I received at your center. It was nothing but pleasant from the very beginnin. And everyone made me feel that they really wanted to please the patient and that they really cared about how I felt. Believe me when I say that I know good care from bad.
My first procedure was done at (a Madison area provider). Or as I think of it, "The Marque de Sade School of Medicine." The care that I received there would have been laughable, if it had not been so upsetting. They did not care if putting an IV into my hand brought about intense pain for me. I told them that I was in pain and they told me that I was "one of those people that just had a problem with discomfort, and that I should act like an adult and deal with it."
Then I was left with the IV for over an hour and a hlf before I was even taken to the room where they did the procedure. They did not take me by wheel chair or gurney. I was led by a nurse that rolled my IV stand as I followed along like a dog on a leash. I was just thankful that I did not fall.
I was then left for another 45 minutes. I probably would have taken the IV out, but they strapped my arms down. Afterwards, I was taken back to the little curtained area they they had for recovery and left for so long that I took my own IV out.
This horror had nothing in common with the treatment that I received at your facility. Even down to the treatment of my husband, you were special. One of the first things that they did when we checked in was to give (my husband) a beeper so that they could get in touch with him the moment that I was back in recovery. This not only filled the male need for "toys," but made him feel that he mattered in all that was going on. He felt more secure for my safety and that he would not be forgotten.
Not only did we feel that we could call the doctor or the center, they both called us. I got rather sick the first night home and slept a lot the next day. This scared my husband and the calls made him fell better.
Thank you for everything and we will spread the word about your service. We could have had everything done within 5 minutes of home, but we chose you and we would do it again. The 2 hour drive was worth it.
